Water can do many wonders - It keeps our bodies hydrated and refreshed. It can also keep an entire tribe alive, just like it did mine.
With the right amount of time, water can wash our deepest sorrows away.
It has the ability to destroy and to create. One beautiful creation in particular could be an aiding factor in me standing where I stand today.
My Design is inspired by naturally formed fossil creations called 'Stalagmites and Stalactites. These creations are formed over periods of 1000+ years by dripping water entering through a cave. When the water drips through a cave, a mineral is dissolved and this mineral builds up over time.
During the nineteenth century and prior times, The Bapedi people lived in the 'Echo Caves' - the caves inherited the name "echo" after the Pedi chief won against the Swazi tribe.
The man on guard that day would used a hollow stalactite break off to hit a stalagmite. That resulted in a loud sound that is said to have for 40 kilometers within the caves. They used this as a warning system to warn their people of attacks by the neighbouring tribes, giving them enough time to find shelter and prepare for a possible battle.
